Has anybody played this game? I love it. There's one thing I can't figure out, though.

When playing a Standard Game on a Star Wares Locale, what is the purpose of the buildings that you get simply by touching them with a unit? Do they serve any purpose? Along those lines, what is the purpose of those Sandcrawlers? I can't get them to do anything.

Have not played it in a long time. Ive been playing mainly with Star Wars: Empire at War which is way better than a AOE2 Clone and Force Commander :).

Sandcrawlers can shoot lasers I think, and they are good for scouting out the enemy base!

As for the other buildings, think of it like sentry posts.

I will try it out once it hits the bargin bin. The space battles don't interest me one bit. Nothing spacey interests me actually.

You're thinking of Battlefront.... Battleground doesn't have many space battles (And the ones they have aren't that different from land battles....)

Yeah I am referring to the ones you mentioned (the one where you can switch to theatric view). Like if you put space ships in the place of ground units in place of ground units and even if it is a similar style of game, I'll hate it. I just could never get into it during the demo.

This is why I perfer Star Wars: Empire at War. It has both Space and Land/Terrestrial battles. Star Wars: Rebellion had a space battle but it was very limited and cannot control ships where as SW:GB you can control land units but there is virtualy no space battles.

Yeah GB was god awful compared to Empire at War. I would agree with Dell19 when talking about GB. It was literally AOE2 with Star Wars graphics.

I actually bought Empire at War when it first came out, and it's sat on my shelf ever since, I think I played it once. Perhaps I'll pick it up again.
