StarCraft 2 officially announced

its definatly not the same graphics as warcraft 3 just from the beta. they r way better because warcraft 3 graphics are bulky made to make the indivisual unit look good. unlike warcraft starcraft focuses on masses of units more than a select few heroes owning entire armies :lol:
 
For those are you that are complaining about Starcraft II graphics as 'warcraft in space' then look at this:

Yep definitely not "Warcraft in space" Though it was dubbed that by viewers of the alpha version of Starcraft. The proper version of Starcraft utilized a much better interface, which was so good, that a somewhat similar interface was used for Warcraft 3. :mischief:

As regards to Starcraft 2 being in it's Alpha stages, I'm sure they'll be keeping it as it is, maybe tweaking the stats and specs of units a little, or changing unit graphics, all in all, the final product shouldn't look too different to the demo shown. :undecide: ;)
 
Well the look of RTSs and there interfaces doesnt very much from RTS to RTS anyway, its like first person shooters using a retical, its the most efficient thing for most RTSs so its not really stealing or borrowing or copying its necessary.

I think you're wrong. The original Starcraft began its foundations with Warcraft visuals. It is obvious Starcraft II has done so with the Warcraft III engine (i.e. Footman compared to Marine). I'm not sayign they going to scrap it all, but you will be able to see the difference (hopefully...)
 
I suggest that we all get Starcraft-related Avvies to celebrate.

Like several guys in the NES forum.

Highly doubt that. If you watch the videos, the landing Terran buildings snap into place when the land. So I'm pretty sure the grids are still there.
 
startcraft isnt about the graphics. its about the gameplay and highly sophisticated metagaming that results from high competitive online games.

thats why starcraft 1 is still popular, even though it looks like doo doo when you play it today.

Indeed the girds must be there based on footage, though you can apparently rotate the camera view to see around buildings and terrain.

It's not hard. Just go to google image search, find a zealot picture, then go to your profile, and make the picture's URL your new avatar (size restrictions apply).

u didnt tell him HOW to take a screenshot lol, if he doesnt kno how to make it his avatar he might not be sure how to take a screenshot lol
