Starting MP

So maybe this isn't the right forum for this but anyways...

I've been playing the Civ series for years. I played a lot of Civ3/Civ4 MP games and enjoyed my time playing those immensely. I've been really wanting to get into Civ5 MP (I've done some HotSeat games, but that's about it) on a much more constant level. I've joined CivPlayers and NQ, but to be honest its a bit daunting to just jump into a random game when I haven't played MP in years, much less at all on Civ5. I have zero issues learning through being stomped for a while, and pretty much expect that to happen, but is anyone willing to take a MP newbie under their wing?

Read the stickied post at the top of this forum: Guide to civ5 multiplayer. Join a game and ask questions whenever you have them. In a FFA there will always be at least one person who is eager to answer your questions.
