i am very new to ffh, what do i need to play, i see that there is no media pack for the newest version, does this effect game play? is there any beginners walk through or something to get started and introduced to the game?

If you have not even installed the game yet, you can use the Proper Installation Guide. Otherwise I would advise the Complete FfH Manual (both in my signature).

Thus far there is no Media Pack for the latest version. The only thing that this means is that your movies for wonders, victories and technologies will be a single frame, rather than a full video.

And that there's no sound on the movie that plays when you start a new game, but hey, you can watch it with sound some other time.
