Starting to play Civ II multiplayer- advice needed

Hi,

Could anyone tell me if it's possible to play CIV II multiplayer with the original graphics.
My copy of CIV II met with an unfortunate accident, so I need to get a new one anyway - could anyone tell me if CIV II Gold has the original 2D graphics?

I got TOT, but find the 3D graphics really irritating as I find it hard to tell the difference between some of the units/civs (and the music is really annoying!).

If Civ II gold is 3D, is it possible to get a multiplayer patch for the original version?

theres a patch, but im pretty sure its only for Test of Time, it will automatically ask you to update when you connect to CivII online

Civ II Multiplayer Gold Edition has the original 2D graphics.
