im not that good but i wanna get better so i need some advice.i never switch gov. until democracy which i just found out is bad so ill change that but i want to beat it on emperor i need some strategies to get off to a good start and which civ should i be. by the way i play the original one so there are only the basic civs.and which wonders to go after.

In Vanilla, Industrious is the best trait. Then Commercial. Scientific is good too. That makes France or Persia(are they vanilla?) or the Greeks as best choices, then Egypt and America..
I use to love China, get those Riders and smoke every one. I forget if they were Ind and Mil or what. If you want to war hard and can get Iron Rome is a good one in vanilla. I still play them on AWE (Always War Emperor).
Germany is not too bad for very early fighting as they start with Spears and Archers.
