Steam/civ v mp unplayable bugg

I just want as many as possible, especially the moderators to see this.

It is right now impossible to play a multiplayer game of CIV. It is most probably due to a steam update. What happens is that the game dont get past 40-50 turns before crashing, usually by one player dropping. What is worse is that it is impossible to load save files in multiplayer, old ones, new ones, autosaves. You cant get back in the game once it crash (and it does). Later era start just wont fly at all, u rarley get past first turn. Other games seem to work fine so this is only as faar as i know for civ in steam.

Something is horribly wrong and has been for two days. I ve talked with a lot of people in the community, NQ and civplayers, all got the same problem (dont know why more havnt written about it). Problem has excisted for about 2 days now.

Please, anyone who knows people in dev. or 2k make them notice this or we ll loose all multiplayers very soon.
 
steam is hurting the civ-franchise since it was released via steam. it amazes me, how 2k allows them to ruin the game for the mp-community.

iam sick to resteam after every crash/freeze/drop. why do i, as a user, have to restart the program after every problem that occurs. this is dilettantish programming/hosting at its best (for 2 years now, mind you)
iam sick to reinstall steam since i keep losing con in a mp-game while my own con is fine.
iam sick to have lagspikes ingame while everyone in game has pings below 100ms.
and as the previous poster mentioned, iam sick to start games that crash after 50 turns without being able to get a working reload up right now. (= brandnew steam-"feature" the past 2 days)

2k, get rid of this service and use real online gaming providers. you are seriously ruining your own reputation.

me and many more are arguing right now, if we even buy the next dlc.
 
Gone 2 days now, and still not fixed. All games go OOS after 30-50 turns, then it's impossible to reload. Saves are not working. God damn, this is terrible!
 
This actually got worse for me today.. Yesterday we could get a friend to host the game, today we can't even get into the game...

Edit: Just spoke to my hosting friend, he hadn't updated his steam client while we were playing yesterday, but of course it wanted to update this afternoon, so now we're SoL until Valve fixes this.
 
I took a break of mp games lately(excepted GMR ones) and when i saw this thread i was a bit upset about this.

The game itself hasn't changed...it must be steam's problem. I hope they will solve this for G&K...well in fact they have no choice or a bunch of us will be reaaaaalllllllyyyyy mad :mad:

I contacted Steam first and they emailed saying that they do not do any Tech Support on Civ V and referred me to Y2K.

I found Y2K's Tech Support number (1-866-219-9839) and talked with Tech Support Agent. She was unaware of an issue affecting Civ V Multiplayer and took my information. She said she would immediately contact Steam and ask that they check this out. She promised an email response back to me.

Everyone needs to report this by either emailing Steam and Y2K Tech Support and calling Y2K Tech Support direct.

They will have to address this issue if they get enough customer complaints on this.

I am experiencing all the same issues as most of you know since we are all acquainted. This is terrible 72 hours of no civ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else going through withdraws???
I have contacted y2k on the # above and received the same response. I urge everyone to do the same please. The more the merrier as they say:)

In closing: SOMEONE FIX STEAM!!!!!
 
My steam client got an update again this morning. Anyone know if the Civ5 issue is resolved now?

Tested 4 player FFA now, same problem still there. 2 went OOS after ca 20 turns and dropped. Then game froze, only the barbs could move the following turns. I'll play GalCiv2 til they fix this. 4 days now and they havent lifted a finger it seems.

Received an update this morning that required me to restart steam. The problem still exists no change:( Please everyone place a support ticket with steam!!!!
 
Same trouble here. Spent half a day trying all kinds of fixes but found none.
Could anyone tell me how to report this at steam or Y2K? Maybe if more people report this they make fixing it more urgent.
 
4.5 days w/o a civ game... kinda sad, yes most of this is Steams fault, but if 2K had hired a decent MP programmer to begin with and not being cheap about it we probably could at least play some 4 player games with out difficulty while Steam fixes itself...

I like how all of my other Steam games work just fine EXCEPT Civ5... TF2, Shogun2 all work.. so why cant Civ5? Its a bunch of BS if you ask me. They should have never of F***ing released this game until it was MP stable for us all. It seems like they care more about SP than MP tbh. But w/e. This is just a BIG F*** You from Steam and 2K to us.. Enjoy :)
