Hi,

Newbie here and just started out CIV4...Bought it few weeks ago so why just start out? Because I was scratching my head over how Research was applied in the games...Thanks to Requies, I've got the answer....

So played few hours of the game yeserday on Christmas (Yeah...No life...) and discovered that my Stonehenge and Oracle are giving me 16 Culture points instead of the documented 8 halfway into the game...

These would of course make my civilisation more powerful but it irks me to the very core...Why are they doubling their Culture points output?

Anyone here can help me? Is it a bug? Btw, i am playing the latest ver i.e. 1.52

Thanks in advance,
CETAN

Thats the effect of time. If Stonehenge back in the old time was quite impressive, it is even more today, as it survived quite a few years. This is translated into higher culture output after some time.

Thanks but is this documented somewhere? Or is it a new addition? And how do we know time effect will come into play? Is there a guideline?

I don't think it's been documented this time round, but it was when it was introduced in Civ 3. Any culture producing wonder or improvement will produce twice as much culture after it has stood for 1000 years.

that explains why...guess that's why not much appears on this topic in the forum cos it is a carry over rule from CIV3 and I guess most here are CIV3 players...

Whereas for me the last CIV i played was CIV1!!!:D
