I just seriously got beaten to the stonehenge for the first time WTH.

Stupid patch xD

I'm now unsure on what to do, I've depended on that wonder for such a long time to get a spammage of great engineer out and rolling early and plant manufactories all over..

Do I have to go and research the workshops and put a pop in them for a great engineer?

Well nvm, I got the pyramids that solved the great engineer crisis.

You wasted that much early production on what is now such a poor wonder?

The Himeji Castle is so much better value for hammers and it gives GE points as well. Or beeline metal casting for a workshop and assign a citizen as engineer specialist = more GE points and an all-around usable building.

The first 6 policies combined are now 40% cheaper while Stonehenge gives 25% less culture. Overall, it's actually more powerful than before in the early game. It is less powerful late game but it's an early wonder so...

It was always designed to grant as much as an early allied cultured CS, and given both changes it remains so. SH is good on a vegetal start if you don't have happy minerals or animals ! To make it short, SH is good given certain circumstances !

Pyramids are MUCH easier to grab... AI seems to avoid it most times, unlike the Henge. I guess they've been a bit nerfed, though, but getting the additional free worker is quite nice.

There are plenty of other ways to get free workers. SH is, if anything, MORE powerful now imho. As mentioned, it has more of an impact on early policy acquisition, it helps with GE production, and it helps tremendously with border expansion. Not a whole lot to dislike here. Of course, the GL is much improved, and the biggest change is, as mentioned, that the HG went from "I will not build this even if there's nothing else to build" to "Optimal strategy involves beeline of HG". Overall wonders are much more desirable than before as a group.

Would be nice if it gives free monuments as well. :/

I just took Egypt, the extra production toward wonders policy and made all the wonders =P

What are you whining about? ;)

But... but... but... its a wonder... ;)

 I'm still thinking like that, when I play lazy games.

A builder is a builder, I guess. Even if I CAN force myself to do other stuff, it nags me to lose a wonder.
