Stop spending my faith

I want to store up my faith to spend on great people later in the game but when I select 'remind me later' in the religion screen, it keeps popping great prophets when the threshold is reached. I've tried selecting 'buy great prophet' to see if the two had been accidentally swapped but that wasn't the case, it still kept throwing great prophets at me.
When the option was there to purchase a different kind of great person I could select that and it would pop one of the different ones automatically OK. However, if I still left it as 'remind me later' it still popped great prophets. I have this problem with a few mods enabled but also with unmodded. I couldn't find another thread with this problem.

Is anyone else having this trouble?

This is the way the game is designed. You cannot bank away faith in the pre-Industrial Eras to spend on Great Persons post-Industrial without running the risk that Great Prophets will auto-spawn. The "remind me later" option does not trump that game mechanic. During the pre-Industrial ears you either spend faith on misisonaries, inquisitors or, if you have the requisite beliefs, religious buildings and units, or you let Great Prophets spawn when they spawn.
