Is there a way for stopping Automatic Workers from building on mana nodes that have already been developed?

Have you tried the: "Automated workers leave existing improvements" option?

Nope; I'll give it a shot to see how it works. Thanks!

I wouldn't mind them upgrading the other stuff - just not overriding the mana nodes.

Yeah, 'Leave Existing Improvements' is sorta problematic in RiFE; sometimes you *want* your camps replaced with Lumbermills. Maybe with some new worker AI...

I got something planned for this, but I can't say when or if ever I'll be done with it.

Maybe we could just have civs put a greater emphasis on mana over food/production/commerce. Like if a civ is set to favour a certain mana type, they put a rating on that mana type to be valued to 200 food/production/commerce. Workers then would never automate the mana away. I suppose you would have an issue with the city always wanting to work that tile though.. but I think it's a smaller price to pay.

I'd rather give them some actual yields. Just a minor amount, but enough that they are desired.

Or possibly just flat out disallow any non-mana improvement on a mana tile.

There is no fire mana where you live? Well, in the Grigori nation we have plenty, trust me, trying to farm fire mana doesn't go well. ;)

Here is a random thought. What would be fun is if mana nodes provided some passive benefit rather than just being prone to flares.

Say for example water nodes could provide irrigation and death nodes could provide unhealth to the nearest city. This could be used to balance some of the stronger combat mana types.
