Strange Alliance

I was playing the Napoleanic Conquest and the danes decleared war on me!
It was because they had a MMP with the Swedes but I thought that Alliance partner couldn't attack each other.

During this short war I couldn't attack any Danish units or Bombard them.
Is this ment to happen?

What happened to you is what would happen to anyone else in that situation. i don't know if you can say it is 'meant' to happen. I don't think they designed locked alliances to be like that, so it seems like a bug. But the golden rule is, you can never attack you ally, not even with a privateer, except if they have privateer in which case you didn't know it was them.

reminds me when in the Rise of Rome, the Greeks joined me (I was Rome) in fighting Carthage and I fight the Persians. Later, I was fighting the Greeks and allied with the persians. odd isn't it?
