Strange Behaviour....

If you look at the list of names of people browsing a forum, the list is invariably in order of ascending User ID number, with you (ie the person browsing) listed last.

Its a bit of an anorak thing to notice, however Switch seems to be at the start of the list whenever he's on-line, as opposed to everyone else who is always in order of user id number.

Its not really of any consequence, I just find it bizarre....

I have always assumed it was done by DoR but maybe it is how long the person has been surfing in that forum.

I think its done by number of posts - which would tend to correlate with time registered - but Switch has a lot more posts than anyone else.

No, ainwood was last behind cromagnon but cromagnon hasnt hit 300 yet...and ainwoods been here a lot longer too...so I wouldnt know.

EDIT: I just realized your always at the end of the list when logged in

I did a little experiment and from what I can tell it is date of regristration. Switch was here before alot of people that is why he is first most of the time.

You don't see the hidden posters but they are always listed last... There are usually 10-15 hidden users online...

Spending so much time discussing a pointless thing is indeed a strange behavior.

I can't tell if you're really confused by that or not, but if you are, it's because it always lists the logged in user last, as Ainwood and Immortal said.

Hmm, DoM, that's strange. So if it doesn't do it in order of registration date, UserID, or postcount, what could it order it by? I bet it's random, , although here are some ideas:

• date of last post
• posts per day
• amount of time browsing the forums
• amount of time browsing the specific forum
• ICQ, ICP, or whatever that thing is called #
• position relative to the sun

And there are many other posibilities, of course.
