It matters zero what you think. I has been known for months that aim is for this game ages last more than 100 turns. Modern too.
Now the game had bug where modern was won on average way faster than intended. Bug is now tried to fix.

Whether you want to admit it or not; it does matter what I think. Modern is the most boring age. There are already ways to extend it if you really wanted to.

They really can't afford to make the game so boring that more people quit. The franchise is in its worst spot ever and can't afford a further decline in players which equates to less people buying future DLC.

They even less can afford to make this game something else what they promised beforehand.

Also in no case the correct solution is shorten the game because it is boring. Solution is something else.

I don't remember them promising "350+ turns a game" as a feature.

If the game is boring enough, I and others will stop playing and I certainly won't be buying any DLC for a game that sucks up 10 hours of my life for one game. I've played every Civ game since before they were numbered.

Does anyone know why the game's graphics suddenly look brighter after the release of the latest patch. Now all leader models and the map itself look extremely bright, for some reason. Before the patch, the game did not have this problem on my PC. It has also been crashing at game start, something that did not happpen to me before.

Is your monitor HDR? Did you possibly enable HDR or Windows auto-HDR?

You could try deleting the graphics options file to reset to defaults. The game will re-create the file.

GraphicsOptions.txt in your user folder under (hidden by default):
\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII

On a side note, anyone who has a decent HDR monitor should use it. Civ 7 was a major reason why I upgraded my monitor recently. It looks so much better in HDR.

But use Microsoft's own HDR calibrator app! My monitors were horrible with HDR until I used that app, and now they're great.

Why is the Modern Age longer? It should be the victory age not the drag-this-game-out-another-100-turns-artificially Age.

I just won a Deity game on turn 88 with economic victory, which is the only victory nerfed this patch, AFAIK.

Science is likely longer too, since they made tech cost more.
