I run a geforce 6800 GT 256MB AGP card.
The game runs flawlessly, but, sometimes i get this error
when scrolled out too far on the world map:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/supertoned/civgraphicserror.jpg

it doesn't happen all the time, some times when i load the game up,
sometimes after i alt-tab... there doesn't seem to be any real pattern to
it. but it is very annoying, and i wish it would stop!

where should i report this to make sure that firaxis knows what is
going on, and hopefully have the issue fixed?

also, does anyone else ever have this problem?

I am, just wait for replies like you... It doesn't bother me a lot but the symptoms are exactly the same...

exact same card; same problem...

the strange thing is that is comes and goes during a single gaming session.

does your monitor blink to black then back to normal once every 2-4 hours?

Similar stuff here too, I also get something similar when the in game movies start up (just the first second) it doesn't bug me much.

X300 128mb in my Inspiron 6000

I've had that happen to me, quite a bit lately. it's strange, my first game ran perfectly, but since then, problems have happened... oh well.

also running nVidia 6600. the bug sometimes goes away on it's own, sometimes it doesn't. very strange.

Asus 6600GT card with 81.85 drivers and getting exactly the same issue, doesn't happen when I first load the game but seems to occur after a while. It's really no big deal though and I guess it will get fixed at some point.

someone mentioned in the bug report forum that turning off anti-aliasing can
sometimes help this issue. i have not tested this yet, but will get back to
you on the results of said test today.

Hi Guys. I solved this problem by scaling back the NVidia forceware drivers from 81.85 to 78.(whatever). This solved all these zoom out graphical glitches. You shouldn't have to scale back drivers, but this worked for me, and i'm hoping it will be solved in the patch.

Yah, it's an Nvidia driver issue. Happens to me on my 6800gt. All I do is alt+tab to the desktop and then back into the game and it clears the problem for a little bit. It's no big deal to me until they come out with a patch since I don't go to the globe view too often. I'd rather wait then roll back drivers since that can sometimes cause other problems.

turning anti aliasing from 0 to 2 in the options screen also seems to
clear the problem, however it also makes my movies a little jumpy
for some reason. weird...

Same problem with me,

6800 Ultra, interesting is that I realized the problem first when upgrading to driver 81.85

I started playing the game with an old driver (51.xx or so) and had about 2 CTD because of graphic driver errors every 3-5 hours thats why I upgraded, but on the other hand I've never had this "stripes" problem with the old driver...

I get the EXACT same problem: I zoom out to get a global view, it turn to all a bunch of horizontal lines. In addition, if I even try to turn the AA on anything above "none", the game units move like a bad claymation flick.

I JUST got my Nvidia 6200, but every time I try to use ANY AA; even 2x, games/graphics stutter. Is'nt this card MEANT to use Anti Aliasing  Same thing happens in my new CoV game too.

2.4 chip; 1 gig ram; Nvidia 6200 128ram; and not a THING on my taskbar or running in the background. System is defrgraged and cleared of spyware every week. 81.85 driver.
