Strangest Experience in Civ3?

Also in this game I saw an odd pop up for the first time in three years of civ 3. "Your people want to build the Iron Works."

I spent so long thinking that small wonder was disabled, but I guess I had just never been able to build it. :)
Yes, the first I could build Iron Works I thought "hmmm... why was I stupid enough not to build this great Wonder before?"

Then I read the "coal and iron" need and understood why! :mischief:

Actually, so far I was lucky to have iron&coal on a city that is a reasonable. But what if it was located in one of those 1 or 2 shield production cities? Would I build it? Would I move the FC to that city? Probably not...

Yep I had four coals on my map (which in and of itself is odd) two in small crappy cities and two in big central cities. I lucked out, it was in one of the very first cities I conquered.

60ish production before factories is awesome :)

This is my strangest experience so far. It happen today.

I was searching for a wonder I felt would make the game much easier for my part, obviously there was a lot of benefits attached to it. I don't remember which one, but it sure was worth it.

I had 12 turns left, and the French built it before me, and I had nothing to change to, other than the Great Library, which I did not want. Being dissapointed, I accepted it. Then, on the next turn, I discovered education, which made the wonder obsolete! No discoveries!

I was so dissapointed I started laughing. I loaded the game, and turned research on zero, and I built The Great Library. Then, I received a pitful "monarchy", which would be the last thing I would want to have, ever.
