Strategic Resources

This is my first time using CiVup and VEM so I don't know if this is a bug but.. i just connected my horse, and it yielded only 1 horse. When I hover over the resource, it gives no indication of how many horses it is supposed to yield, it looks like it should be 2 horses if this was vanilla, but I'm not sure what changes exactly have been made to strategic resources in this mod. Am I missing something, or did I just get a really sh*tty tile

Considering Im playing this game as Mongol, I'd really like to get a response on this, theres only 2 horse resources in my whole territory and if I can only build 2 keshiks well.. Ill just go back to vanilla and suck it up when I get into the promotion issues (basically why I got this mod in the first place)

In VEM strategic resources can vary from 1-n units. If there's no number by the resource then it's a single unit. Since strategic resources are somewhat rarer even a single unit can be quite valuable.

Each player's territory (tiles closer to us than opponents) has 4 horses available, as described in the How players/resources get placed thread. Some of these can be around citystates, so target those citystates for conquest in the ancient era. The Mongolia thread in the Strategy forum has some tips on early warfare with this civilization. Check out the "Early Strategy" section of that post.

Use the Herdsmen mod and steal them from your enemies before they get them. It's fun if very expensive because the barbs keep taking the herdsmen. No wars required.
