Strenghtening some weak vanilla promotions

I don't know how much people use guerrilla and woodsman promotions in vanilla civ and warlords but they seem to me really weak if compared to combat or raider promotions.
Guerrilla can be useful in some cases like defending a city on the hill, but woodsman is just crap.Anyway i think that unless some specific situation arise you will ever choose combat or raider promotions instead of guerrilla.
So why not making these 2 promotions stronger?
For guerrilla perhaps you get a bonus in attack on the hill which is half of their defensive bonus so 20% attack on hill 40% defense on hill, or any bonus which seems to be balanced the same could be done for woodsman giving it the same bonus for attack in the forests/jungles, probably this promotion could be strenghtened a lot more considering that building a city on a forest/jungle tile just remove it, so situations were this promotion is useful are less frequent than guerrilla.

Guerilla and Woodsman actually give the same bonus when attacking a forest/hill tile than when defending. Woddsman I is a little weak in this regard since the base forest defensive bonus is greater than the offensive bonus, but in all other cases you end up with an actual bonus when attacking in your favorite terrain.

Are you sure about this?

I thought the notion of attacker applied to the side initiating combat. So an attacker wouldn't receive a bonus when attacking a tile with forest/hill even if the attacking unit has woodsman/guerrilla.

I'll definitively look into it tonight.

It has been added in 0.15 (possibly 0.14, I'm not sure), and now even shows in the combat odds. Note that it depends on the tile the attacker is moving to, not the one they are coming from so that the defender actually gets to "choose" the terrain they fight on. I also remember that at some point Guerilla didn't work when attacking, although I *think* it's been fixed since then. Anyway, I'm 99% sure at least Woodsman is effective on offense, I used it a few times last weekend.

I know Woodsman and Guerilla work on the offense, but when? Is it attackin INTO a forest/hill or FROM? Or both?

both are really great for defending improvements (remember that the elves can build farms, towns, and (blank on third, lol)). and everyone can use guerrila for defending mines and such. that and the double move is really helpful from the 2nd upgrades. i would like to see earth 3 create hills though (prolly a divine spell)

it was changed so that defensive promotion in land features applies on attacking however-the only current land "features" with a defensive promotion is forest/jungle
Spoiler :

other land features-fallout, floodplains,

hills are not considered features-they are a terrain type (or something)
warlords solves this by giving an anti hill promotion

Spoiler :

do note that placing fallout on a tile will remove both any jungle, forest or floodplains(terrain features can't stack)

hills, mountains, flatlands, water, are considered PlotTypes
Ty!, so if the hellmap is added- it will need to include lava as a new PlotType?

(assuming the 2nd map isn't seperated entirely by game mechanics through some sort of leet hackzorz)

I dunno how they are gonna implement the Hellmap, but it couldnt just be a new plottype. If hell exists beneath the map, then the regular map have to be on top of it.
