Playing as the french, a long time ago, the game evolved into a huge stalemate. Paris grew to 64 population even though there was huge amounts of hunger. How did it grow that big? anything to do with the huge amounts of units fortified within?

It could only grow that big if you sent food transports to the city.

In the levels "above Deity" the AI has such an advantage in its production and food boxes, once they build a granary I think they grow a person every turn because the granary actually refills their entire foodbox despite the hunger.

no, you misunderstand, i was the french, and paris had 64 population. Food was being sent but there was still massive hunger. That game was extremely buggy anyway, for instance i had millions of gold, gaining over 1000 gold per turn, and i once plundered -1000000000 for taking a city.

It doesn't matt4er if there was massive hunger - The city will grow if you send it food. Also, the money bug you're talking about happens if you have too much money. I believe you can't get more than 30 thousand?
