Stupid SDK spawn point/city question

I can get custom maps to work and load fine, except for specific spawn points and cities.

Placed cities will not show up. At all -- they turn into a random spawn point.

And specific spawn points (say, Romans in *this* hex, but really it's any civ) will then turn into ... any takers? You guessed it! A random spawn point. o__o

Is there something that I am missing to get it to work properly? (Yes, I'm saving my maps ;P)

Thanks!

are you checking the 'load scenario' circle after selecting your map?

i havent made a map with placed cities yet so its just a guess, but should be real simple to do you'd think. check some scenarios that have cities preplaced and do the same thing they do

Ok, tried that, but didn't work. The map doesn't show in the scenario's list - only the Mongols (the only one I have at the moment).

Really banging my head against the wall on this. I get the same result with the True Start Locations - just random start points. :/

the map you make has to be in the my docs / civ5 / maps directory otherwise i don't think it will show up when selecting a map in the ingame - mod - setup. starting a game, going to setup without going into the mod menu isnt going to pull your maps in btw

Ok, I just figured it out -- totally stupid on my part. I've been loading the maps from the Advanced setup instead of the basic, so was not seeing the scenario option.

Thanks much for your help and comments!
