There was a thread that said about starting Succession games... so I will start one: Englad(Britain?) Game.

*It will be my first succession game... so, I will need a little help from you guys.

*how much turn every person should play? ( I belive the best is 10 turns = 50 years )

*The Victory type will probably be the UHV. Because it is relative easy, and i could make it one time.

*I belive 4 people is good enough, but if we can't make more we can play with less...

*I can play the RFC Vanilla and Warloards... so i will play what the majority choose. ( vote in the Warloards version... )

So that is it... anyone that wants to play post a reply, and let's start discussing the strategy.

I'm up for playing. 10 turns is 50 years? I thought turn lengths varied throughout. I vote warlords.

Well, in most importance time for England ( 1500-1650) i belive is 5 years per turn...

Now just +3 players! \o/

About strategy: I'm more of a peaceful builder sort of person. I also think we need to decide what victory we want to pursue.

I think we need to go to the UHV... if we miss it, the only option is Space Victory or Time.

Playing with England i am more builder than Warmonger ( I am pretty lazy even in defense, with 1-3 longbowman per city ). If we want defense, we need to make lots of Ship, naval power is the best defence.

City Placement:




Economy: I always go to Specialist Economy when playing with Colonial Powers... primarily because the land is short, so we need to use the best of it. And the colonies of the New World grow up more faster, i start to contribute with our economy/science faster...

May I suggest that one city be placed three squares above the bottom right planned city?

I think there is a resource there... and by the first screenshot, you can see that problably the dumb ragnar build a city 1 tile south west of the Oil... (and with luck he build Inverness too... so we will have a spare Settler o_o'*that never happen to me ._.*)...

I guess I just play as Britain more often than you.

For the spare settler, may I suggest the Scottish city? If Ragnar's built one in Scotland too then I guess the one in Cornwall =P

( what happens always to me is Ragnar building Inverness, but i think this game he builds 2 cities in our spaw area ).

OK, what techs are you planning on researching? and what're you're planned build queues?

Also, if Ragnar's got a Scottish city, we can save those settlers for our UHV =]

Well, it will be 10 turns ( or more, if you think this is a short time). I think beeline Optics, and Circumnavigate.

All the cities will start building Libraries for Culture ( I already have some problems with France about this ) and for Science. In the first turn i will change all the civics= Hereditary Rule ( for Happy ), Vassalage ( the only option i think ), Serfdom (we will need to improve all the tiles for the new cities), Economy without option, Organized Religion (need to build lot of infrastructure 'cause Catholicism will appear really fast).

For 10 turns, i think this is it...

Well, I can see you've got it all planned out =P

When we're looking to do the "cities on continents" bit of the UHV, we should go on the best expansion civic techs we can.

By all means, play on!

Build lots of Farms... use the extra pop to use Specialist, this will be more fast than cottage (that grows slowly) and will give GP points... and with Bureocracy and Mercantilism make wonders! Wanna play Kairob?

I would love too, as long as I dont go first so I get to see what ya do with ya farms . Also if you can get open borders with france/spain why not use ya extra settler to get a head start in africa?

Why are you proposing to move london? It's in a very good spot. For the other cities, I'd choose the topleft question mark, and I'm not sure for Ireland, since I don't see clearly the landscape.

Settle London, and meet Ragnar. Good! He build york that will be ours Ò_ó!

The super revelotion began... Send a Settler to the SouthWest (Plymouth I think…), put other two in a galley, send up. 1 Work boat to Crab and other to a Fish Resource.

2 Turn:


err… RAGNAR LOST INVERNESS!!! See the remains of a city? crap… we could have a spare settler now… =\

Turn 3



York is ours… We meet... Hanibal... I just don’t know how… I can’t see any boat or unit of Carthage… o_o. Settle Plymoth, and start to grap all resources with workers...

Turn 4:

Settle Dublin and start building a Library…


Now that Dublin is finished, we unified all the Great Britain! Time to change Civname…

Ragnar comes proposing OP... well I really don’t care... but having Ragnar as a friend is never a bad thing…
