:) My fellow Civers!

How about (via toggle!) we add to the realism and strategy by requiring certain resources be required to allow units to attack! (Oil specifically!) If someone takes over your oil, you'll have maybe 1 turn to use your mech infantry and tanks w/aircraft for attack. Otherwise you can DEFEND only! You'd be forced to use infantry and/or marines!

How does this sound? I think it'd be interesting!

:)

How about we can store a strategic reserve (for Gold / turn?) in every city? New city improvement Oil Tank, Coal Bunker, and so on???? You can fill them ba having res or trading for them. The more you have / buy the faster they fill.

Also, res have a certain size (roughly known) and will deplete depending on use.

That's pretty good! But maybe make sure you need a small wonder to do that. (Know what I mean? Building great tanks or something to store excess, and your production is limited by how many resources you have.)

sounds good but .... and a HUGE but i beleive ... this would make samll countries weaker and strong countries stronger, and i think that future imporvments should try to change this so that weak countries can have a chance to defend agaist a stronger enemy

this would be acheived simply by being able to give a weak ally some of your units, and also by being able to station troops in your allies citys and in your allies unit stacks

sorry to go offtopic, but in short i dont like this idea at all for reasons mentioned above

Or, once you lose the resource units that require it can't heal.

EXCELLENT Idea.... He said it before I could. :)

Remember this my friend:

Life's not fair. Society isn't fair. If you're small, you have do do what you can to get as large as you can. Some people simply live somewhere with no real resources. Others live in resource rich areas. It's the way the world works. <shrugs>

Giving your ally units, along with some of your resources to help them use them would CERTAINLY make the game that much more interesting!

My humble opinion, anyway...:king:

and the tanks get more movement pionts when its on full power but if the fuel is getting out it cannot move

I like all the ideas present. I would also like to propose that you can continue to produce the units even when you lose access to the resource but it takes up one more point of your reserve.

I hope the boys and girls and Firaxis are reading this!

also for repairing your units?

i like the ideas of stockpiles, perhaps a different small wonder for each type of resorce that could be stockpiled

i beleive that stacking with allies in citys and on the feild and being able to trade units is integral for immurcive diplomacy and for the stockpile idea u would have to be able to import/export more than 1 of a reasorce to make trade much more immurcive
