Summarize What You'd Like To See Change

We can then cycle through the other GDRs... ending finally in the ultimate GDR... whatever that is...
:nono: You are too impetuous grasshopper. Civ-Fucious says: "He who shows all in intro, leaves nothing to be found." If you see all GDRs from the begining, what incentive is there for you to actually play the game? What is life without mystery and intrigue? Can we realy call it life at all? Have we doomed this thread to utter spamnation yet?

There must be some level of showing in the intro. Surely, it won't be everything. There is so much more to GDRs that a simple intro movie is completely incapable of capturing its full glory.

Civ-fucius also say, "Show a little, and in come a lot."

Okay, forgive my ignorance but.....what the HELL is a GDR? All I can think of is a 'Grand Democratic Republic', but something tells me it isn't that!!

Oh and, as always, I LOVE all of your ideas DH_Epic :)!

GDR = Giant Death Robot. One of Perfection's awesome ideas. I third the need for GDRs in the game. I have one thing to add, units in an army should be upgradeable. :)

@AA-Battery: You guys are truly sad  :p !!

As for armies, I'm hoping that they are going to revamp the entire combat system to make it 'stack vs. stack' combat! If that happens, then the whole nature of armies will have to change-I envisage something along the lines of each unit in an army getting a bonus to each stat equal to, say 10% of the unit which has the best stat of that type. For example, a tank and infantry unit together in an army-the tank would get a bonus to its defense strength equal to 10% of the infantry units DS, and the infantry unit gets a bonus to its Attack Strength equal to 10% of the tanks AS!

keep it in your pants spatula :-)

at least until (unless) you're married ;-)

What makes you assume I have something to keep in my pants? ;)

A nice touch of morality there. Shame I don't follow it.

Biggest hopes:

-Stacked combat, stacked movement, some way of managing movement of many units easier (eg, doing some different things with rally points).

-MUCH better AI. Ability to: recognize the value of a solid, homogenous border rather than a patchwork; to decide if it would be worth it to put polar cities down in useless locations; to do a proper amphibious assault; to mass artillery and airpower for effect.

-Enhanced terrain rules, so that there are not green hills in the Arctic. Also I want to be able to build terraces on hills and mountains. This isn't a huge deal but it would be a nice feature.

-Frills. An animation sequence when your UU starts a Golden Age for instance.

I hope for a different research method. Until now in all Civs it's always been linear, but History teaches us that this wasn't always the case and that often discoveries were casual rather than planned.

Also, for each Era it would be nice to have a few and short "specialization" branches, with say 1-2 techs max each branch... and a civ could only choose one of these branches to research (of course these techs would be no-trade).

Would be nice for terrain rules to affect, in combat, not just defenders but also attackers. E.g. an archer attacking from a hill a unit on grassland would get an attack bonus.

Thanks a lot Aussie. For a thread that looks a little heated, it's good to see a few allies ;)
