summer time

Just wanted to point out, that the time on the site is wrong, even if I entered my location correctly.

Possible reason: no change to daylight saving (is that what it's called? or is it called "summer time"?). Means time change in the night from 29th to 30th for one hour. Time is 14:06 (2:06 PM), what's shown in cfc is 13:06 (1:06 PM).

I'm not sure if there is a fixed date, but my tv tells me that I correctly adjusted my clock. weird.

Right now the forum time says it is 1:21 PM where as my computer time says it is 1:14 PM....

I guess, this is because of the php date() function, which only retrieves GMTs.

smalltalk: if you have your "time offset" set properly in the "Edit Options" section of the user cp, there is no timezone difference in general (but see below.) I assume this is what test_specimen means by setting his/her location correctly.

test_specimen & others: there are differences between the US and the Europe Union on when daylight savings time begins (US switches a week later) so you are likely to see places which look to be an hour off during this week depending on how thoroughly they calculate timezone offsets. Other locations have their own rules as well so if you'd like to be further confused, check out http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/g.html

Strider, the fact that the server is 5-10 min fast is a whole other issue. That is well-known and occaisionally discussed here in site feedback (the last such thread is probably only on page 2 or 3 if you're curious.) TF doesn't control the server machine and therefore doesn't control the clock, but he does occaisionally bug telefragged to fix it when it gets way out of whack. Until telefragged decides to use ntp or something similar to keep their time synched, you just have to live with it

Oh dear, they use GMT without daylight saving. Time in the UK is now Brittish Summer Time (BST = GMT + 1).

Or you could just go to options and select the next timezone east for the duration
