Sun Tzu - Useless?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned what I take to be the best reason to build Sun Tzu's: To keep your rivals from building it. You see, Player-run states have the sense to build barracks early in cities that produce military units. The AI is not that clever, and it builds many regular units even late in the game. This makes them very easy to defeat. Sun Tzu's has the effect of covering up for this strategic mistake on their part, and it makes defeating them much more difficult.

Very, very good point!:goodjob:

I definitely try to get Sun Tzu, it makes things so much easier if you're upgrading units. You won't have to trudge your troops over to the nearest Barracks, since all cities now have one.

Definetely a top Wonder in version 3, my only problem is getting the damm thing at Emperor, I have not even tried at Deity. Can get Pyramids (before the tech race begins) and most of the later Wonders (when I have had time to catch up) but am just too far behind in techs at that point in the game. Same goes for Leonardos And The Sistine.
First one I can be almost sure of getting is Bachs, the AI seem to ignore Music Theory for a fairly long time. From then on I usually get them all but am left having to drag troops about to cities with barracks for upgrades.
In curret game seem to be keeping the AI at bay by making sure I have lots of horsemen and cavalry, so am not bothering to upgrade most of my spearmen until I get Infantry and can then do it all in one (very expensive) move. This would not work if you needed/wanted to have a war of course.

Agreed with those who are citing the ability this wonder gives you, to be able to upgrade and heal units deep in enemy territory as soon as you take their cities. This gives you a big advantage in wars.

Also, it's nice to not have to build barracks in every city and therefore save a lot of money that otherwise would go towards upkeep. With that extra money you can have a bigger military, right?

And I guess while we're on the subject of the money-saving aspect of the Wonder.... you can use it even if you are playing a peaceful game, and use all that extra money to jack up your science rate or build economic stuff or whatever.

Good wonder. Definitely NOT useless!

YOU NEED BARRACKS!
because you can only build the military academy when you build
5 barracks so i make 5 barracks then build military acadamy and then sun tzu wonder
and then you can come with thos nice veterans:cool:
