Super Medic problem

Hi.

How do you create a super medic?

I merged a scout to a great general, but I did not get to chose medic. What am I missing?
 
Select Combat I then Medic I to III

Combat I opens the Medic promo line.
 
My favorite alternative Super Medic is Woodsman 3 + Medic 1. You need Combat 1 or Drill 1 to get Medic 1, so this unit is significantly cheaper if you're Protective or Aggressive or if you have a UU which grants Combat 1 or Drill 1 (e.g. Oromo, Quenchua, Samurai).

If you are Aggressive and have a melee unit which grants Woodsman 1 (like Montezuma does), you can get this kind of Super Medic with a mere 10 xp, which means you can farm Super Medics with Barbarians. This is why Monte is awesome.

Second this. The only thing that makes his UU good (did you know his woodsman 1, combat 1 swordsman defend forests the same as their completely-unpromoted regular-swordmsan counterparts?? 9 for jags vs 9 for swordsmen, and jags are weaker everywhere else :rolleyes:)

I think they are good if you build a barracks, then you can 2 move them through the jungle to the neighbor, and you don't need to find, settle, and hook up iron. An Axe rush is quicker since you don't need to research IW, but if you don't have copper, or you are surrounded by a lot of trees, they can get a quick rush done.

Yes, Woodsman 3 is awesome, because you get first strikes... the choose a Drill, and you can open up the Medic promotions... Woodsman 3 healing and Medic promotions ARE stackable.
 
Typically I'll get one of my Warriors up to Woodsman III through animals and barbs then hide safely away them in my capital until I get a GG, and use that as the base to build my Super Medic.
