Super Tribes

Hi all,

My laptop has been upgraded to a Windows 7 machine. Unfortunately I can't install Civ III. I've tried many ways suggested on the Technical forum but without success.

For now, I can play on my desktop (also Windows 7 - but managed to install with guidance from the forum) but only in evening so my turnaround time will increase. However the big issue is when I travel, which I do frequently; then I won't be able to play my turn. My next trip is planned for w/c 12 Dec.

I suggest that we get a replacement player for me in this game. I can play on for as long as you need me, but I will slow the game down.

Sorry about this but I've come to the end of my tether trying to install the game. It simply will not work.:sad::wallbash:

Yes, send a few of your boys over, we always need the extra labour carrying burdens. We have a nice spot in the slave pens where they can be really comfortable. :yup:

Do you have XP Mode on your laptop? That might work as a last-ditch effort.

No XP mode. I can download, but would rather not do, as it is a work PC. I can just about get away with installing Civ....

I can play my turns on a daily basis, until Dec 12. Suggest you guys go ahead and get a replacement. I haven't met anyone yet so no diplomacy complications and my start has been conventional.

You'll have to put a personal lap top on your santa list :)
I suspect there will be a few people going away over the upcoming holiday season anyway. I'm OK to wait a week here and there as it's part of pbem playing that players get tied up with RL every now and again.

I'll echo Hawk here: The occasional delay is okay when things like business trips interfere with the game schedule. What gets my goat is when people disappear without any word for several days at a stretch :crazyeye:

Appreciate that, Elephantium. :)

Looks like I'll crack on with Korea.

Anyway, I may able to resolve. Got a mail from Cyc informing that as I have Windows 7 Pro, I have Windows XP mode. I'll check it out.

The holidays will be here soon enough and folks will have plans..as it should be. And yes E..I am Smilin' Sully having had my permanent crown put into place today! Though my checkbook isn't smilin but my dentist was ALL SMILES with a cash paid in full pt in his chair as he fitted the crown. Now I must admit that the fit is perfect and so was the care. But it was funny how he wanted to show me the crown in place like it was a major cosmetic thing of beauty. Heck it is so far back that no one I would care to show it to would even be interested? It did make me laugh and I guess makes me Smilin' Sully. But in truth...me and my bank account are crying! I would much have spent that money on a nicely pre-owned Audi!!!!

As to the game..2710 sent to Cyc and NTR.

Hope you can stay and play, Tom.

The F11 screen shows me an interesting game.

Not a problem, E. I'm in Corpus Christi and the traffic's real slow here too.

Let it be so. On to TomBxx.

Grrrrr....it doesn't work, even in XP mode. Back to the drawing board. :(
