It's going to take Mapfinder a considerable amount of time to find my next milk map, so in the meanwhile, I'm killing time with OCC games. I'm playing them all on huge maps, starting with Chieftain and getting as high as I can. As mentioned in another thread, I already won a Chieftain OCC, so now I'm working on Warlord.

Do you choose your opponents? Being the only scientific civ is a huge advantage.

I am choosing my opponents. Right now I'm using the same set that SirPleb used in his Sid run. While it doesn't really matter on the lower levels, I think that on the higher levels that this will make it easier to get Philosophy first, and consequently the Great Library. Depending on how things go once I get up there (if I get up there) then I may adjust the set or switch my own civ as need be.

While you're right, Scientific is a great advantage, for now I'm playing as the Indians. I start with Alphabet and Ceremonial Burial which means I can crank out a temple first thing and get it to double early.

I'm now on my third Warlord attempt. I probably could have one either of the first two except that I had trouble swallowing my pride and refused to cave in to tribute demands. It's kind of sadistic fun valiantially struggling to defend your only city knowing full well the RNG won't let your spearmen hold up against Cavalry.

My third Warlord game looks like it'll be completed with a 20K win, I'll finish it while typing something, just tabbing over and hitting enter every minute.

As I was generating maps for my next OCC, I came across a start location that would have been a dream start for a milk map:

I wound up using the Warlord game to just screw around and play for fun, so it won't wind up likely being HoF submitted. I did finally zip up and submit the Chieftain game.

Probably won't be doing any OCC stuff for a while. I was really just doing to kill time while Mapfinder ran overnights, but I may have a solid milk run in progress now. So, no more OCC for me for now...
