Yesterday i saw a film in prosieben created by bbc and it's about what hapens if yellowstone erupts.
I did know about yellowstone since a long time but since yesterday i know the potencial if it erupts.
The bad thing would be the volcano winter. Avarage temeratures would be 20 under normal
and many many other things.
Some Facts:
# A super-eruption would equal the force of 1,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs exploding every second.
# You could fit Tokyo, the world's biggest city, in Yellowstone's super-volcanic crater.
# Three super-eruptions at Yellowstone appear to have occurred on a 600,000-700,000 year cycle starting 2.1 million years ago. The most recent took place 640,000 years ago suggesting Yellowstone is overdue for an eruption.
If the Volcano erupts, than 3/4 if US will be paralysed by ash
The Ash of the volcano can do this things:
# Kill and sicken humans and animals
# Reduce sunlight
# Trigger rainfall causing mudslides known as lahars
# Severely disrupt air, road and rail transport
# Crush buildings 30 cm of dry ash is enough to collapse a roof
# Contaminate water supplies
# Kill crops and other vegetation
# Clog machinery such as air filters.
