Hello. Is there anything you can do to speed up the process of the native population switching over to your side once you have conquering them. Ive built temples, librarys and courthouses and stacked them with military units but it seems that some cities take forever to switch while others take less time. Is there any pattern that the AI follows or is there something that im missing. Thank you.

Starve them down to size 1, then let it grow so that you have more native citizens then them. Also, buy workers and/or settlers until it gets down to size 1, or plant forests and chop them for settlers and/or workers. Additionally, eliminate the tribe from existence, then quash any remaining resistance. Forget temples, libraries, and courthouses... they don't change nationality AFAIK.

The only things I'm aware of for converting are military units (more units than revolting citizens is just wasting the units) and getting peace agreement, or as Spoonwood mentioned eliminating the tribe. Otherwise its up to the number generator.

thanks a lot guys, spoonwood and fiddling nero for replying to my thread.Your information was very helpful. I will definitely use your advice although it is somewhat too late in the game im playing now(cities at pop 25 and higher).Once again thank you very much for your help.

I've seen this posted also but it's not true. Each military unit has a chance to quell a rebel, so more is better.
The amount of culture you have compared to your opponant is also a factor (for quelling), but it's your oldest culture that counts most towards this. To build some temple or library in a town you've just captured later in the game won't make much difference anymore.
Spoonwood already said what best to do to get rid of foreign nationals.

The fastests way to turn people over to your side have already been covered, but to the actual question.

Hello. Is there anything you can do to speed up the process of the native population switching over to your side once you have conquering them.

To my knowledge there are 2 main factors involved in the formula which check each turn. Those 2 are goverment and WLTKD. The representative goverments have a better assimilate value. So the answer would be: fastest way to assimilate is to go Demo and get the town to WLTKD status. Never seen anyone done a assimilate calculator though. Guess its because its of lesser value then others like the the flip calculator.

Since you can't have any unhappy citizens with WLTKD the answer is no.

Communism, then pop rush a library or temple. Flipping is based on having culture in captured cities. But starve and then pop-rush is the way to go. Once they get down to a pop of 3 or so then its normally safe. AFAIK, and there is a hint in the text on Fascism its down to having a majority population. So you need to starve it then let it grow so that your native population numbers exceed its original inhabitants.

I like to build workers, as they have a free upkeep and reduce population
