However out of touch I may be with Civ 4, Do any of you guys have any idea on the system specs of Civilization IV? I'd liked to know, and this is an easy way to find out. I am mainly worried that It will be Windows Xp only.

wasnt pirates 64MB? i got 256, but IIRC, i played it on my old GF4 MX440 64MB.Snoopy said:128ram graphics card

nicae said:i agree. but 64 VRAM isnt as little as people may imagine nowadays. sure it was DX7 and low settings, but my 64MB GF4 MX440 handled HL2 and CS:S pretty well, and those games have alot of stuff going on!

but CIV4 is turn based, so everything is still. in pirates things are changing all the timeDeep_Blue said:Civ4 spec should be higher that Pirates spec, as civ includes many calculations and random number generating it will requires faster CPU and more RAM to handle that. About graphics spec it should be close to Pirates.
yes the processor has much more time to think....believe it or notnicae said:but CIV4 is turn based, so everything is still. in pirates things are changing all the time
The calculations occur between turns , if you play small map it will be fast, but if you play large map with many opponents it will take long time between turns. (like in civ3 it sometimes take 3 minutes between turns on a large map).nicae said:but CIV4 is turn based, so everything is still. in pirates things are changing all the time
