So, I'm working on a mod that changes Civ4 from a strategic game down to a tactical game, with ranged combat and such. It's set in the WW2 era. I've been able to figure out most things, like unit combat, goody huts, specialists, and so forth, but there's one thing I just cannot figure out how to get from strategic civ4 to a tactical game: resources. Anyone have any idea how I could use resources (bonuses) in a tactical mod??? I have literally no idea.

hey,

try to take a look in the large mods - c2c, and vip - they make use of resources that produce other resources, use resource as a prerqeq for almost anything. conecct them to all aspects of the game, and maybe go from there.

by the way - may i ask if you are from israel as am i?

Thanks, I'll look into those. That might help.

No, actually, I'm American. I just think Israel has really cool tanks. ;)

It also depends on how much you want to get your hands dirty. I imagine that at some point you'll need to start working with the Python SDK to get the functionality you seek.

Short of that, you might consider having NWs that require a specific resource to build, and yield a new resource which is used to produce specialty units or national units.

Ooh, good idea, thank you. I think I'll use something along those lines.
