This is from a thread in "All Other Games", but since it's probably interesting to most people here:
The schedule of the Tacticon, a digital convention about strategy games, is now known!
Besides a lot of sales, this year's panels include:
  • A talk about historical accuracy in streategy games, which I guess many here will be interested in. The panel consists out of devs who have worked on Stronghold, whereas the others are more recently-themed war games
  • One talk about procedural generation, which is also how the civ maps are done. The panel has devs from Dwarf Fortress and Timberborn on it, so might be partially interesting
  • There is a talk about the role of visuals, as well as about campaigns in strategy games, which people here might find interesting as well.
I hope some people will find this year's schedule interesting :).
