This is it i am so sick of this.
I bought this game at release which was months ago and i still can not play it there is a major problem here and i think we should make extra sure they know.

They and I mean 2k games have robbed us and yes i do mean robbed they took my money and gave me a product that does not work and that causes my computer to do very odd and I think harmful things to itself.Look at it this way take 60$ multiply it by the amount of people that purchased this well known and very good series of games the amount will be quite alot millions im betting and knowing this im sure they released it knowing that the game was not going to work now look at all the people that are unable to play this game.Not only that but they are ignoring those that are in this situation and when u go to there support page it takes you in a loop back to a link for here.I have emailed them and have read post were others have also and they ignore you and if u call u you will get disconected for some stupid excuse or another.Screw this I am sick of companies doing this to us as customer's and if enough of us that feel the same way are willing to stand up and do what we can to make them realize that they will not get away with this.

As I have read from one of your other posts the single player part of the game plays fine for you and your problems seem to be related to the multiplayer aspect of the game, is that still the case....?

I am not sure if your post is apporpriate for this section of the forum as you are not asking for help.

Good luck to you and I realise how frustrated you must be, and how lucky I am as the game has been great in every way, but if you did feel like starting a new thread detailing precisely your problems someone might be able to help you If it is regarding the multiplayer aspect then I am not able to offer help as I only play the single player game.

Personally I agree with him , Its an epidemic of gaming companies rushing their products to market in an unfinished form and it really has to stop.

In the last 6 months I have bought a half a dozen games that ,, in all honesty ,,,,suced ,,, and they were raving about these in gaming mags.

Personally I don't care what the companies say about the to many different systems to try to get it to work on all types of machines.

Then maybe your in the wrong buiness ?

In short if you guys don't mind just giving them 60 to 100 $ ( yes there more expensive in different parts of the world) for there unfinished junk then go for it.

Personally this game is awesome , great idea's, great concept , but they ruined it by rushing it to market with flaws.

Well some folks will say well it works great on my machine quit crying about it, so all I can say to those folks is ,,your lucky then ,,,

I have a pretty awesome rig for a comp, but it still won't run this game without crashing and I have spent over like 40 hours reading these boards to try to get the game to run half arsed.

In conclusion IMO the death of PC games is comming soon , as alot of peeps I know now are starting to buy consol games cause , they hardly ever crash , they don't have to be patched evey month, and they have tons of titles to choose from.

Its sad cause I'm a real die hard computor gamer, I don't watch 3rd grade sitcoms on the propaganda machine TV, I don't play sports anymore ( were old and all beat up ) so this is what I do , but the way I see it , its just dying. I have been gaming for over 20 years and I see the decay and lack of respect the compaines have for there gamers , REMMEMBER WE MADE YOU WHO YOU ARE TODAY , but you seem to have forgotten that.

Anyway I just wanted to back up this guy cause I feel his fustration, and anger every time I buy a game that I have to spend a whole week in the forums just to get it to run , maybe !

So bro your not alone ! There should be laws for this kind of stuff, cause it is, in a sense, like stealing from you, conning you.

And the gamming mags are half to blame. Show some balls and tell these companies their games suck and to warn us not to buy these unfinished products. But thats just wishful thinking cause I live in America and thats just the way it is here now. Get it out , get their money and tell'm to screw.

And for the guy who told him that this is the wrong place to post this, I disagree with you, this is the best place for it ! At least it will get read ( and flamed , like my reply will I'm sure no doubt, either spelling, grammer or don't post it here complaints, relax take a deep breath its ok if other peeps vent.

Nope single wont work at all any more either
I was able to play one game so far to modren era and now i can make more then 20ish turns.

i just bought civ 4 and an ati 9550, downloaded the latest driver 5.15 or something and it fails to initialize+ i also downloaded the latestest patch. my comp is pent4 2.33 ghz with plenty of ram. ?? whats going on??. before i bought the card i had the demo running on my old ati rage pro card but the textures and colours were missing now i cant even get the opening credits to show. maybe we all bought reverse engineered/pirated versions, my copy also didn t have a product registration key as well it just forwarded me to 2k games site. well looks like ill be stuck playing civ 2 on my ps1 with its long ass load times lol.

The fact that you had texture problems and colour issues with the demo indicates other things besides the game. If you post your Dxdiag on a separate thread someone can have a look at it.

good news; civ 4 launched, i was fidling with the display settings in control panel set the frame rate to 60 res to 1280 x1084 reinstalled disc this time on the dvd drive and password protected the version 1.52 patch dont know if its coincedence. i hope it will work the next time i try it. it took a few days to get it to run but this game is worth it.It has alot of design similarities to rise of nations though. keep trying dont give up
