How do I take snapshots in Civ 3?
That's all...

simplest solution (assumes you use windows):
0. have civ on your screen
1. hit the printscreen button
2. open paint
3. hit ctrl + V (paste)

resize and edit as desired. save as a .jpg infranview is even better than the paint program that comes with windows.

also, you may want to look in the creation and customization thread for screen shot utilities that are a lot more flexible and convienient.

I suggest going to the Utility forums in the Creation and Customization forum because that program is a lot easier to use than the Print-Screen button.

Some utilities:

ScreenPrint32
ScreenShotAssistant

Those are all I could find in the Utilities forum. Personally, I use grahamiam's method, and just keep Paint open while I play civ to take screenshots if I need to, but others have said these utilities are much easier. Try them out and decide for yourself.

I use PrintScreen and paste to Paintshop Pro. Using a utility is perhaps simpler, but I don't have any need for anything simpler than my method. And there's not like there is any considerable time to save, assuming the utility sticks to >0 time demands.

Oh, come on. It's already easy to make a screenie in Civ. Why make a utility for it?

People are lazy...meh, I'd do it, if I weren't so lazy..
