I've read a couple of stories in the forums when ppl have been writing about their games, and screencapturing maps and writing ... stuff on them. Any point in having officially nominated historian here?

Sure, that would be great! You can look in the DG1 archives for Daaraa's posts. He was our resident Historian back then. Just make a "History Department" in the main demogame forum, and I'll sticky it for you. BTW, we do have a screenshot thread, so I could turn that into the history thread if you provide stories/stats.
