KWP mentioned that he wanted a TC Friday, so here it is:

Date: Friday 30 May
Time: 10.00 AM local time - 8.00 AM GMT
Player: dutchfire, though I'd be willing to give someone else a go if they strongly want to.
Online

Previous TC

Please post your requests, objections, suggestions and instructions here!

I'll post a rough vision on what I plan to do here, tomorrow.

@Cyc: You wanted some screenshots a while back. Still need them? What do you want screenshots of?

Dutch, what do you plan to do during this TC?

Follow the instructions :)

I think we're still in the peaceful phase, expanding our empire a bit, and researching currency - construction.

I'll get some more detailed plans tomorrow.

Yes, please. But only if you chose to carry through with the Land Grant program initiated by our previous ruler.

If so, I would like a screenshot of each city, to extend out 4-5 tiles in each direction. The grid on, icons on (so I can see which tiles have what), ... I think that was it.

Thanks much.

It's unclear how "instructions" are being handled this game, but here is my advice.

  • It would help our future war plans to have an axeman or two built, preferably where we have a barracks such as in Edorai.
  • It has been suggested that we should trade math to Spain to get iron working.
  • See the thread on a master settlement plan for suggestions on where to place our next city. Obviously, adjust for the presence of iron, if there is any in a useful place.

I believe you were discussing this with kwp by pm. If so, could you send a summary of your conversation to me?

I'll put on both the resource indicators and the tile yields.

I think theres a worker still active on the ivory camp near NG, judging from the screenie i must have not told him to do anything so you might want to send him up to build a farm.

I think for the time being Edorai should stay producing MP for the other cities, we need them to grow so we have a decent empire. Our capital could perhaps produce units after it has finished it's settler.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Reseach is going to be Currency - Construction.

Update:
Time: 10.00 AM local time - 8.00 AM GMT

How many turns do you intend to play? :)

My computer crashed earlier today, and i haven't been able to get it up again yet, so i can't give proper instructions, so i am going to leave city builds and worker jobs for you to decide dutchfire. Hope that is ok, and sorry for any inconvience caused (Also means i can't play the succession game at this time either)

Since New Giruvegan has built a temple in seven, I suggest it finishes this and then starts a worker (unless near growing, in that case an archer may fit in).

That is, unless many other cities intend to build workers?

Well I wish I lived in Europe, but I don't, and I can't stay up until 2. This wouldn't be as much of a problem for me if I could load a savegame though. I try to load the ones here now but they say something about a mod directory; is there anything I need downloaded to view this next save?

P.S I would post in the savegame topic but it seems like that is only for the actual files.

You need the HOF mod. This is a mod made by some people here at Civfanatics. It doesn't change the way the game is played, but it has some additional logging functions, fixes some bugs, and it has a slightly improved interface. Some of the features in the HOF mod for the original civ4 even made it into Beyond the Sword! You need this mod for playing competitive (Hall of Fame / Game of the Month) games here at civfanatics.

Session starts in ~46 minutes.

Played

No really big events, just passing a couple of turns.

I played 11 turns by the way, so Currency would be completed and a new great scientist would be ready.

Techs: We got Iron Working (traded for Mathematics with Hatsheput), Polytheism (asked Lincoln for it), Sailing (asked Hatsheput for it) and Currency.

I revolt to Hinduism when Lincoln asked me too. I'd like to keep him happy while we rough up Hatsheput. I think it payed off by the fact he gave us a tech. :)

I took the city of Kassite! It's the Barbarian city N of Madrid. Taking it gave us some nice money to research, and when the borders pop, we'll finally see who's behind those brown borders.

The bad news: Lincoln beat us too that nice cow, corn, gold region, and settled a crappy city there. Our settler is now rerouted to the east of our continent. It still have "move to orders", and I think it should be settled 1E of where he's currently being sent.

Barcelona has the Temple of Artemis. Do we still want to raze it when the time comes?

Louis Pasteur has been born in Arete. He can bulb compass (:(), make an academy in Arkadia or settle in Arete. I'm leaning towards making an academy in Arkadia.

We can always keep barca and work tiles the other site of Arkadia.

For a horrible minute i thought we'd wasted our settler on that Kassite city, what a terrible city!

Thank you, my lord. Those are great.

Indeed, it's probably the worst spot to settle a city (still, pigs+some grassland can become useful), but when it's borders pop, we'll meet a new civ, which will hopefully be worth it.
