I've got my teaching interview next week to get onto the training course. any advice from current teachers or those who have previously had their interviews? scared, thought I would get more notice.

What age are you planning on teaching?

If it's Key Stage 1,2,3 my advice is to change you name to Mr Golden Touch and grow a beard.

First and foremost, you need to convince them that you are passionate about becoming a teacher. You have to like that age group.

Why do YOu want to be a teacher?

Golden rule of all interviews. Dont start thinking about the answers you think they want. Just be honest. Dont be afraid to be enthusiastic and keen.

thanks for that buddy :p secondary school yup, science.
Good Luck!

My advice is to follow col's advice. Same for any interviews. The only thing I would mention is pay attention to the domination of the school, Catholic, CofE, ect. Religious dogma still plays a part in these things from what I've heard.

Tell your interviewer to tuck his shirt in. If he refuses, make him stand in the corner. This shows your desire to keep discipline in a classroom environment.

Convey a love of learning and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children, if such you are doing. It will be nothing you expect, and be very rewarding as a consequence. The best attribute to have is adaptability.

Are you a teacher? Having read some of your posts, that's worrying news indeed :scared:

Simon farms children for their organs

Oh tish, pish and posh. Just think of it as taking a traditional approach to educating the whole boy.

Abaddon: No, I prefer bovine organs for my breakfast, and it is exceedingly difficult to fit a pageboy in a pie. Nay, there are far better uses for them. Serving tea and a biscuit, games etc.
