Spoiler :
"Who are we at war with?" Womick said. "We are at war with al-Qaeda and the Taliban, who are Muslims. It's a Catch-22. They are not allowed to kill their fellow Muslims, we're at war with Muslims. The only solution I see is that they not be allowed in the military."

I'm done apologizing for this town, but to be fair, Rockvale is barely civilized and even more barely considered a part of Murfreesboro.

Also, as a janitor at the local university, I clean several buildings and one of them contains Saleh Sbenaty's office. I think I may just leave a note of support for him tomorrow.

Why does this guy hate the freedom of religion clauses in the United States and Tennessee Constitutions? Is it possible he is secretly working with al-Qaeda and the Taliban to destroy America? We should consider waterboarding him to find out.

By this logic, Christians are not to be allowed in the military. Thou Shalt Not Kill after all.

State rep. Snooze! State legislators say stupid things all the time.

He still can't be as bad as my old state rep., who stole her opponents' campaign literature off people's doorsteps; I think they should have thrown her in jail for attempting election fraud, but there's no justice.

This. If we had a thread for every stupid thing any government worker/person said, we'd have a lot of threads.

Well, it doesn't take much to get elected to the state legislature, anyway. Who honestly closely follows what they say or what they stand for? I would be surprised if more than 10% of voters actually looked up a candidate's positions and didn't just make assumptions based on party label (for partisan elections.)
