Well, it is settled then. Cyc will be mayor of Noshuret, and Almightyjosh the mayor of Gorina.

*Note: Chieftess may actually be a computer recording the demogames. ;)

Please Governor, I belive you have the city names reversed. I am to be the Mayor of Gorina, and Almightyjosh will be Mayor of Noshuret. Thank you for the appointment.

Or a Lefty DL with a slightly more functional spell-checker module, given the post above

Sorry about that. It was late. You are correct.

Sorry I have been so slack recently. I have had a whole lot of stuff going on in RL, and keeping up with the demogame has had to take a backseat. Everything should be resolved within the next few days.

Luckily, we have a very competent President and VP to keep things going, and I have complete faith in their decisions.

Don't think that I won't put down any insurgency with efficiency and an iron fist. History has show that those in power best display their genius when that power is threatened. ;)

Already planning for a comeback, huh AJ? :) We need another Provincial Golden Age.

Governor, as I have stated in The Gorina City Thread, I believe we should switch the Granry in Gorina to a Settler (done in 6). This will give us our fourth city quickly, then we can start on the granary Instead of waiting 23 turns to start our next Settler).

A poll regarding the primary purposes for our cities has been posted. I will use this to determine build queues.

I wish to set forth a plan to determine classifications for each of our cities so that it is not necessary to poll build queues all the time.

The current classifications are:

Settler/worker factory

This category will build nothing but settlers and units to escort them. When needed it will also build workers. These should be low production/high growth cities, and in some cases may need to construct a granary before being set on their 'path'.

Metropolis

The primary purpose of these cities will be to generate income, culture and science. They may also be used to construct wonders, and in times of need, units. This category will normally contain cities with good growth potential and good production. They will also generally receive the most attention from our workers.

Citadel

The primary purpose of these cities will be to produce trained military units. A barracks will be one of the first things constructed, and then just enough other buildings to maintain order. After that, they will almost exclusively produce troops. Ideal candidates will be cities with mediocre to low growth potential but the ability to produce a good number of shields with only a small population.

Port

The purpose of these cities will be to generate trade and science income, allow foreign trade via a harbor, and produce whatever naval vessels we need. They should build a harbor relatively early on, and then focus on markets and libraries while building enough happiness improvements to maintain order. These cities will obviously be coastal, with decent production capabilities and growth. They should be optimized to have as many citizens as possible working the coastal squares, as these produce extra income.

Border town

These cities are those resting on a border with another civilization. They will normally produce several cultural buildings early on, city walls, a barracks, and then can be switched to the Settler/worker factory classification. They will serve mainly as upgrade points rather than troop production centers due to the fact that they will often experience high corruption.

Comments?

Well, I believe Gorina should be a Metropolis, but that it should first pump out 3 Settlers, eyrei. Once that is done, along with the other military untis to allow growth back to pop size 3, then it should start building the Cultural improvements that will help it grow to Metropolis size. I don't think the Granary is of high importance right now, as long as we take good care of tile improvement. (I'd also like to see us enter a Monarchy form of government soon.)

I agree with Mayor Cyc regarding his city of Gorina, eyrei.

If we switch the build queue from a Granary to a Settler and move a laborer to a river hill(1-1-1) from the unroaded grassland(2-0-1), we can get the Settler in 6 turns. By losing 1 food/pt, Gorina would be due to grow in 6 turns --- a perfect cycle. So, rather than starting the 7th turn at Size 1, Gorina would be Size 2.

I request that you strongly consider this, Mr. Governor.

I would like to Apply for Mayor of Nar Shaddaa. I have lots of Experiance of Being a Mayor and I am in need to keep myself Occupied when the Military Department is running Slow :).

RE: Mayoral appointments

If at all possible, I would like our mayors to have no other position. Not because it is a particularly difficult job, but because I would like others to have a chance to get more involved.
