Terrain graphics not loading

I just bought Civ6 and was dissapointed when I started a new game: most of the terrain is black. The models are doing just fine, but the background graphics are almost completely black, ruining experience in the normal camera to me. My specs aren't the problem, has anyone else run into this? Thanks for all help.

same result was bugging me too - it was a graphic card driver problem.
i have on old ati card in my notebook and had no problems with any games up till now. driver support has stopped years ago but even then i had to uninstall everything throug the catalyst package and install a few month newer version and the problem was fixed
