Test of Time ideas transfered to Civ 4

I was recently playing the Mars Now! mod and I thought to myself wouldn't it be good if once you've built a spaceship you could colonise another world (like Mars). I then remembered playing Test of Time and how much the idea of having more than one map in a game and more importantly the extended original option campaign which was offered where you could colonise Alpha Centauri. So I was wondering would it be possible to mod Civ 4 BTS to do this as well?

If it could happen this would be great in my opinion.

There was at least one version of Civilization where you could adjust the dimensions of the map. I really liked playing on one that was a long, thin ribbon.
