And I mean this in the worst way possible. It's sending its units one at a time to die immediately upon attacking my fort. And now I have so many Great Generals, I'm at a loss as to what to do with them. (Okay, not really, but you get the idea).

I don't suppose there's a mod out there that makes it so the AI knows not to attack one-by-one? Not that it's a real problem, since Immortal AIs are fairly difficult challenges as it were, but still...

I like to call this Hollywood effect: "We outnumber our enemy, the protagonist of the movie! Let's attack him one-by-one! I'm sure this'll work out well."

I believe Better AI improves this somewhat, but it's still a problem. This is one of the reasons the AI gets huge bonuses - to compensate for lunacy. With Better AI you usually want to drop the difficulty a level. I've seen this and also a stack attacking a weak city with 2 Catapults (no Accuracy Promotion) and taking 10 turns to bombard defenses to zero while my counter-stack goes to the city.

Better BUG AI definately helps this issue a lot. I have yet to see one-by-one suicides of units in the 4 games I have played since getting BBAI. Also, the AI in BBAI seems to be better all around at invasions and counter-attacks. As I understand the mod, the AI will actively try to win the game too.

Better AI sounds pretty cool. BUG also sounds cool, but I'd like to try both mods independently before I stick them together. Call this force of habit, but I like to take things one step at a time.

BUG does nothing but enhance and add options to the user interface. It gives you quicker access to info that is already there. It doesn't change the gameplay hence its name "BTS Unaltered Gameplay"

Better BUG AI is a combo of BUG and Better AI. Very well done combo

I had something similar in a game today (playing Destiny mod, which has Better AI I believe).

I had the Hittites send about 15 units - macemen, longbows, horse guys - on a naval invasion against one of my cities, fortified with walls, Chichen Itza and three machine guns. I didn't lose a single battle, obviously - so what was it thinking?

They were tired of you hoarding your Chicken Pizza and wanted you to share.
