The Amazing Race: An Interactive Gameshow

As far as I can tell, it should work.

OLAF: Hey wait! The host from Amazing Race doesn't have helicopters!
PHIL: Have you ever watched the show before?
OLAF: Of course!
PHIL: Well in every episode, I am flying right above there in my helicopter. You just can't see me
OLAF: That's a lie!
PHIL: Should you be arguing with me, or should you be racing?
OLAF: Uhh...I should be racing!

"And now, in my awesome helicopter, let's see who's here...ah! I see SouthernKing, King of Kings has arrived! Right behind him, I see AlmightyZ! Is that Mosher I spot in the distance with Red Spy behind him? And is that...a big cluster of boats over there? I wonder why there's such a huge cluster of boats?"

MITCHUM: Damn these mountains!!!

"Well...uhh...whatever the reason...let's watch our leader, SouthernKing, rip open the next clue..."

"Detour? What's a detour?

phil-keoghan.jpg

"I shall explain what a detour clue is, then, my Southern Friend! A detour is a clue where you choose whether to do one thing or the other." OOC: Pick one of the two saves, and do the task. You may only touch one save. Both saves have the same start time, but it's your decision to decide which one might be faster for you."

PHIL: You have two tasks to choose from: Merchant and Destruction

PHIL: In MERCHANT, you will enter the busy "Cape Town Marketplace" in search of a lost merchant. Once you find the merchant, you must bring him back to Cape Town. A screenshot of the Merchant inside Cape Town is what you need

PHIL: In DESTRUCTION, you must use the resources given to raze the Pig Vendors. A screenshot of the razed site of the Pig Vendor's is what is needed. The Pig Vendor's are directly north (You can't miss it :D)

OOC: In MERCHANT, use the 3 warriors given to "capture" the merchant (when found in the marketplace) and bring him back to Cape Town via manual control. Your allowed to build anything you want in the city. Anything goes, just as long as the merchant is back in Cape Town.

OOC: In DESTRUCTION, there is a city called "Pig Vendors" directly North of Cape Town. Build whatever you like in Cape Town in order to raze the city (A declaration of war against Saladin is required)

OOC: Oh, and thanks to an avid player, Worldbuilder has been successfully disabled :D

Rule Change: The Merchant Challenge now requires a screenshot of the "killing" of the merchant instead of bringing him back. 10 turns will then be added to your score

When you say "only touch one save," is it safe to download both, open each one WITHOUT MOVING ANYTHING in order to decide which challenge a contestant would like to take, and then only play one of them?

Or are you saying that we can actually only download one of the two saved games?

Actually, if you give us a starting screenshot of both, then it's easier to justify using the more-strict version of the rule, where we can only download one of them.

I would like to see the start on both.

In the real game, the contestants did NOT have a chance to see the actual tasks before they had to choose one... They had to make their selection based on reading the clue only. That's part of the fun, no?

Ah, okay.

Edit: To make sure we open one, check both of the save's views. Then, count the number of players, if the number of players is less then the views, someone opened both.

DOWNLOAD ONLY ONE SAVE
The start's are exactly the same, by the way :p. We are in Cape Town, after all.

And Mitchum is 100% correct.

Don't provide justification to Yoshi for being too lazy to take screenshots!

So do we have only the marine we took to Cape Town, or if we brought 3 do we have those?

The marines are not in this. Just pretend that they...uhh...went shopping in Cape Town, or something.

Putting in Marines for the Destruction Challenge is like Cheating :p

@Sam: Uh, oh...a flaw...

You said same start. :p

You said same start. :p
Both challenges have the same start and map, not the Round 1 map

@ Sam: Add on 10 turns to whatever you have and we'll call that the result

A CHANGE IN PLANS! IN THE MERCHANT TASK, YOU JUST HAVE TO KILL THE MERCHANT. I WILL THEN ADD 10 TURNS TO YOUR SCORE

Seeing the merchant dies, how about we either double the time it took to get him for our score (because it would be the same) or we just stop there?
