Surprisingly, this poll has never been done before. Or at least I've never noticed it.

So which console is the best, in your opinion? Take all things into account: raw power, the controller, the games, portablity, support from third parties, and so on. I have a Gamecube, and I can say that it's better than the PS2, but I've never truly played the Xbox, and so I can't make a perfectly educated decision. But I'll vote for the Gamecube anyway, just to show GC pride.

Nintendo fan at heart!

PC For me :D.

They all are nothing compared to the might of the PC! :D

*dodges stones thrown by console-lovers*

ow! :crazyeye:

*is hit by the stones puglover dodged* OUCH!

Well - I voted the last option.
I did have Nintendo 8bit back in the stone age, and I ve played a few games on PS2, so I am not all PC all the time.

While of course the PC rules all, the PS2 is the best console.

You shoud've made it multi-choice...

Otherwise, I vote GCN, mostly because I have had the most fun with it. Most of the great SNES games, are being ported over to GBA, which can be played on the GCN. And OoT was also ported to the GCN as well. So, I vote GCN. :D

Oh, and I hate PC games. RoN is one of the few exceptions, but I rarely play that anyway.

PS2 easily.

Gamecube is a console one would buy to play certain games. A disappointing selection of games at best.

Similar for XBox although this might change as software companies go cross-platform.

PS2 and of course the upcoming Play Station X :D

I voted Xbox. I think it's the most impressive console. I also have a Gamecube which I like, but I think the Xbox power and mod capabilities (along with HD) make it the better console.

Of course I also have a PC. :)

The ps2 of course.

From what I've seen on various polls on gamefaqs, more people own either a ps2 or a gamecube than own an xbox.

Each has their strengths, but overall it has to be PS2.

Choice is the big thing.PS2 offers the biggest choice of games and gadgets.Doesn't have the raw horsepower you'd like though.

Powerwise,Xbox has the lead. But not much is being done to take advantage of it.Not as much as could be done.Money talks. Its a Microsoft product. This is reason enough to stay well clear.

Nintendo has only their excellent controllers in the plus column. The management at this company is close to criminal.I know as they conned me into 3 systems...no more!.Goldeneye is still the best console game I have ever played though.

Actually, the GCN and the Xbox are extremely close in terms of power. On most multiplatform games, the better Xbox graphics can only be noticed on high-definition TVs. And the GCN has a lot faster load times.
Also, another really big plus for the GCN is that it is now only $99.

Otherwise, I agree with you. PS2 has the largest library because it came out a year earlier. I do hope that this thread does not escalate into a pointless arguement (like the Console Games Thread). We console fans should be attacking the PC fanboys, not each other ;)

We'll see ;)

The reason GC is so cheap these days is the halt in production. We all know what that means.I have seen "reduced price" and "player's club" before. This will always be a huge knock against Nintendo.

I used to be big Nintendo person.Heck I was probably the oldest subscriber to Nintendo Power they had.But they lost me forever after N64(great system btw..just no games).Enough is enough.

Take a look at this editorial. Explains why the recent price cut is not the sign of the Dreamcast.

As the guy says, we all have our own gripes about the GCN, but the price cut is in fact one of the smartest decisions in a while. There is no way Xbox will drop their price because they're already losing millions, and Sony has nothing to gain from dropping the price since so many PS2's have been sold anyway. ;)

I cannot say no PC, because I like computer games very much, but PS2 console rpgs like the FF series are wonderful, and I'd have to stick with them. So I vote PS2.

PS2 easily.

It has a plethora of games for all ages, games of every possible type, tons of 3rd party publishers, comfy controller, good enough graphic to stay on par with GC & just slightly behind Xbox, great online support, the graphics & hardware to back up the games, & tolerable load times.

Xbox- Way too many problems to list. Lack of decent games besides the few “big titles.” Controllers massive enough to do curls with(yes I know you can get a replacement, but who want to drop $45 on a controller just cause the design team sux.) Great load times & internal memory are its only saving grace. It’s currently being used to keep my stack of PS2 games from falling over.

GC- Good graphics, some great “token” Nintendo games but a lack of the diversity you’d find with PS. Every game I play feels like it was designed for a 12 year old. It’s being used to prop up my PS games from the other side. *Although I’m SERIOUSLY pissed off that Resident Evil will make their next 3 games exclusively for GC, that alone has kept me from pawning it.*

I was a Nintendo fan from birth, but they did me wrong with the 64(although I still have it laying around for Mario Kart & Golden eye). Playstation became commonplace in every home across America, & it will take a lot to knock them off that podium.
