My favorite advance is Espionage. It's also nice that in order to get it, you must also get Communism! An excellent combo.

Honestly, I never go for magnetism. My navel tech usually lacks behind my land tech by a good two eras (i.e: Calvalry, Alp. Troops - caravels.)

I kinda like Democracy 'cos it allows the Statue. Which i then use to switch to Comunism. I always use comunism so i can fight a war real easy and have no corruption.

But is it ironic the the Statue of Liberty allows you to form a communist goverment?
