The best WWII games

no, there is no way to play BF online as a squad game, trust me.

I like Talon Soft's East Front and West Front strategy games. Also, I enjoy BF1942, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and the Medal of Honor Games. I have heard that Call of Duty is good too.

u could play bf as a squad game b/c u would just have to comunicate more with ur so called sqaud memberes:p

it's possible to play bf1942 as a squad game, but very difficult. The designers didn't have a squad game in mind when they designed the game and gave it a more arcade like feel instead. But, if you like squad based combat, try America's Army: Operations or the new game America's Army: Special Forces. They're both made by the army and are totally free!!! Here's a link to their site. http://www.americasarmy.com

hey thats a good game the one by the us army

Obviously you have not seen the Desert Combat (a really great mod) 0.5 promo video for BF. It was quite obvious to me and some mates that there was teamwork going on there. I'd say in the really good clans there is a lot of teamwork going on.

I'd say if you just play online with random people you aren't going to see any teamwork. :(

IL-2, EAW, BOB.

AA was good, but unless the EULAs changed it now requires you to give them access to your entire comp. Something I'm not doing.

Looks like someone has never gone on any of the WOLFServers. They are excellent if you want to meet with other people who will work with each other as a team. BFE and 21CW are good too but if you don't have a lot of time during the week then I suggest you don't sign up :)

Turn based: Steel panthers waw... The ultimate steel panther version, and also important: free for download. Panzer general follows at great distance

simulation : I like panzer commander, IL-2 forgotten battles

action: Mohaa and spearhead

Real time strategy: The close combat series especially part 2.

Panzer General 1,2
Hearts of Iron
Carriers at War
Aces of the Pacific
Okinawa and Iwo Jima back in C64

Silent Storm seems very nice, it's like Jagged Alliance 2 almost, only in 3D and with WW2 as setting.

Tactical Turn based game. :)

Here's an image of it:

There is a Demo for it here:

Carriers at War

I bought this game when it first came out. It was my first year of college. I bought the expansion. Then, I think it was 1997 when I saw this obscure title bundled in a "final production" type gold pack with an editor and a European front expansion added. What an AWESOME grand tactical game on naval warfare! I loved that game. I still have it. I will never get rid of it, even though it was DOS based.

Speaking of DOS based games, nothing today holds a candle to Gary Grigsby's Pacific War and War in Russia! Download free from Matrix Games.

Also, their Uncommon Valor is supposed to be absolutely outstanding. These are not games for the faint of heart. They're for the real Grognard.
