The Civ VII main theme reveal is coming... tune in next week to The Game Awards (Thursday Dec 12)!

So it is the one from Teaser Trailer. Just altered. I would be oleased If the Teaser version also got released.
EDIT: Nope, listened to it too silently, it's the same. Lovely, been waiting months for clean version of the Teaser theme, I am happy. Now I can go to bed

The song on its own:

Having it in different languages feels thematic for Civ7. It's less abrasive than "Sogno di Volare," but still too bombastic for my tastes.

Is it bad that to me I wished it was more bombastic. :p

What's with the little white dots?

Not snow. Not moving through a starfield. Not sparks. Not confetti.

Oh, and I like the music fine. Just the right amount of bombast for me.

Listening live I was at first taken aback by how different the approach to this one was. But the more I hear it the more I enjoy it.
Now, I do agree with it being a little too bombastic, in the sense that maybe I won't be making it part of the same playlist as Baba Yetu, for example, but I do love the approach even more now with the lyrics video and seeing how it ties in to the theme of the reveal (with the quotes) and how epic it feels.

Baba Yetu reigns supreme. Sorry VII.

I do love the lyrics being drawn from literature around the world, though I think I would have liked it better if they had add more of a sense of evolution in the texts.

But with or without that, still a strong song.

Like if it started with The Iliad in Greek but ended with tweets from @mastercheefkeef69 in zoomer slang and dictated emoji?

Lyrics matter less than melody when this is playing in the background at the start of a new game 🤷
That was my reason for picking a Japanese gospel group. Knowing the lyrics with these can detract from the experience so an authentic American gospel group with perfect English wouldn't work ("Why is the song all about Jesus this and Jesus that?!" that Baba Yetu hides behind Swahili).

Nah, that still puts you at risk of being sued over IP.

I would have thought start Illiad or Ramayana, end Charge of the Light Brigade or In Flanders Field or something in that vein.

Extra points for ending with "The World Wonders", since that one has notorious historical relevance in a whole second war a century later, the accidental dig at Bill Halsey will never not be hilarious, and there is an obvious World Wonders reference to make.

So that’s where those lines from the Summer GamesFest reveal trailer come into play!

Congrats Fanatics, the Popal Vuh connection for “so it shall be” was right!

Until it has massed bagpipes it can never be too bombastic.

It's a fine tune and fitting to the game. It is not as good as Sogno Di Volare, which you could loop for hours and never grow bored of, but it will do.

I like it a lot. It starts out quite Sogno di Volare but as it evolves it somehow reminds me more of Calling All Dawns era Christopher Tin, which is absolutely not a bad thing.

I think video game themes these days are always going to have some bombast right out of the gates, as that’s the only part of the theme you can guarantee any player will actually hear. I do like how they build the song in layers (I see what they did there) of different language.
