So, this is sort of a big poll to determine the most popular leader theme in the game.

The poll consists of two semi-finals and a final. Each semi-final will consist of 18 entries. The top 10 most voted entries will have a place in the final. The final will have 25 entries - 10 entries from the 1st semi-final, 9 entries from the 2nd semi-final and 6 automatic finalists. These automatic finalists have been chosen randomly in advance and will not be revealed until the 2nd semi-final. Leader themes that have more than one owner (like the themes of Victoria and Churchill) are considered as one entry in the poll. Here are the dates of the 1st and 2nd semi-final, and the final:

NOVEMBER 1 - First semi-final
NOVEMBER 4 - Second semi-final
NOVEMBER 9 - FINAL

So, this is it!!! The final to the Civilization IV Leader Themes Contest!!!!

Happy voting!

My vote is for Portugal...it was a tough decision. Seem like every time I meet Joao I hang on to listen to his theme a bit (as I plan to wipe him out shortly)

some others I like:

Celts - really nice song that is a little slow a first
Liz (England) - just a nice classical piece
Greece - I didn't realize that was their theme as I think it is one of the regular background tunes. Really nice and pleasant peace that brings a nice ambiance to the normal game.
India - Gotta love the Sitar

There are some other decent pieces but the Zulu theme makes me cringe every time I hear it.

So, after 15 days of voting the winner of the Civilization IV Leader Themes Contest is....

Spoiler :
CHARLEMAGNE - HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE !!!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who voted in this poll, even though this poll is sort of minor and only a few took part of it.

:goodjob:

Wow, I think people just didn't bother to listen to more than one song from the list and voted for that. ;)

I was going to vote for the melancholy Germany piece, but looks like I'm too late.

Runners up were Portugal, Celts and HRE. I, too, mistook the Greek song for some general theme song.

It's astonishing to notice the variation between the songs. Some are pretty good, others seem like a bunch of random notes thrown together, to exaggarate somewhat. It's a bit like the tech/building buttons -> some look really good, others are subpar or worse (like the "burning" Marketplace).

I'm kinda gutted the Arabian theme didn't make it :(

Out of the ones up there, I'd say that HRE, Portugal and Greece have the best tunes. Looks like most people agree, too :)
