CIVILIZATION V THEME CONTEST
WAR EDITION

SECOND SEMI-FINAL

This big inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest. Each civilization gets "represented" in this big poll. Since each civilization has a peace and war theme, the big poll will be divided into three editions: The Peace Edition, the War Edition, and the Overall "Grand Finals" Edition.

Each edition has two semi-finals and a final. The final will be composed of the top twelve themes from each semi-final. Unlike the Peace and War Editions, the Overall Edition will be a combination of peace and war versions. Each civilization would still be "represented". Per civilization, between the two versions (peace and war), the version which has the most number of votes gets to be represented in the Overall Edition. Example: Between the two versions of Washington's theme, the peace version gets the most votes. Therefore it gets to "represent" America in the Overall Edition.

The theme with the most number of votes in the Overall "Grand Finals" Edition wins the title of "Best Theme" in the entire game. There will be also winners for "Best Peace Theme" and "Best War Theme".

The big poll itself would last three weeks, with each edition occurring per week.

This is the second semi-final of the War Edition of the Civilization V Theme Contest.

My votes:

- France (severely underrated, but still great)
- Arabia (that's a beautiful sandstorm of strings and drums, makes me think of the Crusades and wars with Byzantines)
- the Ottomans (one of the best renditions of one of the best military marches of the world. This couldn't really go wrong)
- Austria (it's slow, calm, but still menacing and scary)
- Babylon (very powerful, makes me imagine some kind of Biblical cataclysm or an ancient war)
- England (well, I think it's obvious. The very best war theme in Civ5)
- Ethiopia (extremely well-done in a seemingly cheerful, but decisive tone)

Honourable mentions:
- Spain (gotta love the guitar!)
- the Celts (powerful bagpipes!)
- Greece (very, very Greek in tone and choice of instruments, very epic)

My top five:
-England,it's simply perfect (Duh!)
-Spain,it's wonderful
-Arabia,very Arabian and reminds me of something...
-The Ottomans,scary and imposing
-Maya,apocalyptic and alarming

Sweden, Polynesia, and Inca were my votes. Honestly the music was wonderful but it didnt evoke enough "war" theme to it. When I think war theme I think a faster paced orchestra. My typical sensibilities would lend to lower range notes and most of these had that, drums, bass cello, etc. but they had fewer crescendos and lulls in pace to make me think drama but not war. myabe i was confusing this for something like music played onto the battlefield to rile/rally the troops to victory. if i did i apologize. no insult meant.

i havent seen the previous polls so this is my first introduction to this and i must say that compiling these is very impressive. the music is quite good.

It seems we'll have another tie-breaker for twelfth place. Please continue to vote!

Totally forgot to vote in the first one of this, lol.

With war themes, there can only be 1 choice. England.
